The Prague University of Economics and Business
The Prague University of Economics and Business is the Czech Republic’s largest public economics university, offering exceptional higher education in a variety of management, economic, and informatics fields to both Czech and international students.

In 2013, the university celebrated its 60th anniversary. Also known as the University of Economics, it has gained great praise in both the Czech Republic and internationally throughout the years. VŠE is ranked among the greatest universities in the world, and one of the best universities in the Czech Republic (according to QS World University Rankings).
- More than 20,000 students are now enrolled in the university’s six faculties, with more than 3,000 of them being international.
- Bachelor’s degree programs are conducted in Czech, English and Russian, Master’s and Doctoral programs are taught in Czech and English. Programs taught in the Czech language are available for international students for free, studying in English comes with a fee.
- The campus of VŠE is located in the centre of Prague and consists of 3 buildings modernized with the latest technology, libraries, canteens and top-notch classrooms.
- Leading specialists in the field of economics make up the academic faculty of Prague University of Economics and Business. The majority of lecturers work for public agencies or private businesses.
- During their studies, students are enabled to intern for influential corporations such as Česká spořitelna (Czech Savings Bank), Komerční banka (Commercial Bank), ŠkodaAuto, PricewaterhouseCoopers, HVBBank, Deloitte, L´ORÉAL, KonradAdenauerStiftung, etc.
- Prague University of Economics and Business students frequently partake in global exchange programs and internships, in such countries as the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, US and Belgium.
- The university also holds a traditional JobFair for its students twice a year (during lockdowns the fairs were moved online).
- The Prague University of Economics includes around 100 international partner universities, including Cambridge, Harvard, Princeton, and the Sorbonne, among others.
- VŠE produced the majority of the current Czech government’s ministers.
The deadline for submission of applications is April 30. Exams take place in June.
The acceptance rate (according to EduRank) is 36%.
Foreign applicants must complete a language exam in Czech, which evaluates their writing and speaking abilities. Applicants that have a success percentage of at least 60% are admitted to the entrance examinations.
On the day of registration (in June), foreign candidates must additionally provide a Certificate of Recognition of Foreign Education – nostrification.

The admission process consists of an essay prepared in English on a specific topic in economics, marketing, or business, as well as an oral defence and interview on the essay and a motivation letter. Teleconferencing is used to carry out the admission procedure remotely.
The tuition fee for the program taught in English is 3 800 EUR per year.

University of Economics Prague masters (MBA) degree
The Prague University of Economics and Business offers three MBA programmes.
International Executive MBA
The deadline for applications for the International Executive MBA program is January 31, 2022.
Application requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree is required (or equivalent)
- At least three years of postgraduate professional experience in a responsible managing or leadership role.
- Two reference letters (academic and/or professional)
- Professional CV Motivation letter
- Proof of English proficiency (test in English is not required from the native English speakers)
- Interview for admissions (long-distance interview possible via Skype or phone)
For the whole MBA program, the entrance fee is CZK 286,000, if paid in one instalment.
MBA – Real Estate Investment, Development and Valuation
Application requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree is required (or equivalent)
- A minimum of one year’s experience in the real estate industry
- Professional CV
- Motivation letter
- Proof of English proficiency (Because the classes are taught in both Czech and English, knowledge of the Czech language is also required)
