Higher education in the Czech Republic is provided in the Czech language at all three levels – bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral, and is free both for Czech citizens and foreigners.
You only pay for the first year of studying the Czech language and preparing for admission. Then, you are accepted to study at a university in the Czech Republic for free.
Yes, admission to a Czech University involves entrance exams. Foreign applicants are required to pass the same exams as Czech students. There are some degrees that you can be accepted to without entrance exams.
We offer a choice of 4 hostels in Prague and 3 hostels in Brno to our students. The cost of accommodation is not included in the course price and should be paid separately. It is from 170 euros per month in a hostel in Brno and up to 200 euros in a hostel in Prague.
The “lost” year is due to the need not only to learn the Czech language, but also to provide proof of a certificate or diploma in the Czech Republic. You need to pass 4-5 exams in school subjects before the certificate is recognised (nostrified). It is a long process that takes 3-4 months, and you need to be present in the Czech Republic throughout this period. You don’t need to pass exams to nostrify your diploma, but this process takes at least 2 months. Therefore, it is impossible to enter a Czech University immediately after finishing school or University in your own country. In any case, you will have to enroll only in the following year. One-year Czech language courses solve all organisational issues: receiving a long-term visa to the Czech Republic, nostrification and preparation for entrance exams.
We open registration for preparatory programs a year before you arrive and offer big discounts (you can save 500 euros) if you register early. In order to get a visa before classes commence, you need to apply for courses at least 4-5 months in advance.
The price ranges from 2500 to 5000 euros, depending on the city of study (Prague or Brno) and the number of taught hours. This price includes full service: visa support, assistance in nostrification, submission of documents to universities and consultations on admission. You can also pay for your studies with us on a monthly basis.
We have the most complete information about Czech universities, exams and studies in the Czech Republic.
How to become a student at a Czech University?
When I first made the decision to study abroad, it was a kind of “pig in a poke”, as I had never been to Europe before, but we need to take risks and learn new things while we are young. The sky is the limit for us!
