The University of Chemistry and Technology in Prague is the largest university of chemistry not only in the Czech Republic but also in all of Central and Eastern Europe.

The University of Chemistry and Technology uses cutting-edge developments in nano- and biotechnology. The university offers traditional as well as innovative programs that meet the latest trends.

  • The university was founded in 1952 and has a rich history. World renowned chemists, some of whom were Nobel laureates in Chemistry, were professors of various departments of the University of Chemistry and Technology.

Admittance to Bachelor's programs at the University of Chemistry and Technology in Prague does not require any entrance exams. Instead, applicants are admitted based on a rating compiled from their grades in Chemistry and Mathematics for the last four years of school.

Foreign applicants will have to take an Czech language exam at the VŠCHT department of languages. The exam consists of a written test in Czech at CEFR level B2 that includes natural science terminology and an oral test of basic terminology in Chemistry and Mathematics. The Czech language exam is held in mid-June.
