What does the preparation program include?

The program includes a Czech language course up to level B2 according to the CEFR with basic economic vocabulary (870 hours) and a specialized exam preparation course (150 hours). Starting in November, intensive preparation for the national comparative exam on general prerequisites for OSP SCIO studies and the national exam on the basics of social sciences ZSV SCIO will be added to the Czech language classes. The program also includes lessons on the history of the Czech Republic and Europe.

Specialized training consists of three courses: general prerequisites for OSP SCIO, basics of social sciences, and English for humanities.

The “Admission to Charles University” program allows you to effectively prepare for exams and easily enroll in the philosophy, law, humanities, or social sciences faculties of Charles University, as well as other universities with similar programs and similar entrance exams.

Teaching methodology

Depending on the faculty and specialty, you need to pass the national comparative exam in Social Sciences Basics ZSV SCIO or the faculty's internal exam. The difficulty for foreign applicants is their lack of knowledge of Czech history and culture, the political system, and the economic situation in the country. In CIS schools, the social studies program does not cover many topics that are studied in Czech schools. To enroll in a humanities specialty, you need to master a large amount of material in political science, sociology, economics, philosophy, and history.

The “Admission to Charles University” program includes an analysis of typical exam questions. Students study topics that are new to them and actively work with literature on social sciences.

Preparation for the general aptitude test involves in-depth study of Czech vocabulary, development of logical thinking, and improvement of reading and numeracy skills.
