Training Courses Description

The courses are designed for the enhancement of the linguistic skills of international students and allow them to pass the entrance exams in the Czech language and further study at the university in the Czech language.

Students receive the necessary knowledge of Czech grammar and vocabulary, including specialized terminology (depending on the chosen specialty), master the skills of speaking, and acquire the skills of writing and oral presentations necessary for studying at the university.

Please read about the concept of language courses here, about the methodology—here.

From zero to B2 in a year of intensive training

For admission and further study at the university, knowledge of Czech at the B2 level (according to CEFR) is required.

1,200 lessons are required to reach the B2 level in Czech.

A language user at the B2 level is an independent user who uses the language actively, every day, not only at school. This requires long-term practice and a solid base, obtained in a language school.

Short-term courses perform the task of reaching B2 level only partially—in these courses, the material is taught concisely or superficially. If the material is studied, but not properly worked out and not reinforced, students then make many mistakes, which it will be difficult for them to get rid of later.

In order to prepare for admission, you can choose Czech language courses without special subject matters (self-study in subjects) or a comprehensive program (Czech language + special subjects).

Czech language courses without special subjects

We conduct training on the annual course “Standard” (560-620 hours) and “Premium” (870 hours). The training takes place at a language school in Prague or in our branch in Brno.

“Premium” in Prague

  • The training plan is designed for 870 academic hours.
  • Possible start dates for training: September 1, October 1. It is best to go by September 1. The sooner you arrive in the Czech Republic, immerse yourself in the language environment and start learning the language at school, the better it is. But since many people decide to study in the Czech Republic in the summer, we also opened courses with a later start, but with the same hourly subsidy.
  • For applicants in creative specialties, we offer courses with an early start—from July 1, as admissions committees of creative universities work on a delayed basis (admission is in winter).
  • The Czech language is taught 5 lessons per day (when training starts in September) or 6 lessons per day (when training starts in October). Students of the course have the opportunity to pass the state exam in the Czech language, corresponding to the B2 level, free of charge (the written part takes place in mid-May, the oral part—in early June).
  • The course is completed in late May – early June. Upon graduation, students take an internal GoStudy exam to determine the level (A2 – B2, according to CEFR) and receive a certificate.

“Standard” in Prague

  • The training plan is designed for 620 academic hours.
  • Possible start dates for training: October 1, November 1, or November 15. It is best to go by October 1. But since many people decide to study in the Czech Republic in the summer, we also opened courses with a later start, but with the same hourly subsidy.
  • The Czech language is taught 4 lessons per day (when training starts in October) or 5 lessons per day (when training starts in November). Students of the course have the opportunity to pass the state exam in the Czech language, corresponding to the B2 level, free of charge (the written part takes place in mid-May, the oral part—in early June).

“I am 100% satisfied with the choice of the language school. Here I feel at home, here is my native team, here it is cool. And if you want to study, here you will be given a lot of knowledge and everything will work out for you.”

Maria Zhutikova, a GoStudy graduate, a student of the Department of Transport (CTU).
