Západočeská univerzita v Plzni (ZČU)

University of West Bohemia is a dynamically developing university located in the city of Plzeň.

Among the 9 faculties of the University, it is worth noting the Ladislav Sutnar Faculty of Design and Art, the youngest higher art school in the Czech Republic.

  • Plzeň is the fourth city in the Czech Republic, a major cultural, economic, and industrial center. One of the largest Czech companies—Škoda—is located here.

  • The University consists of 60 Departments.

  • More than 15,000 students study in Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctoral degrees programs.

  • The University is a major center of science, as evidenced by large-scale investments both in the development of the University and in the construction of the University’s campus.

  • In recent years, the number of research projects implemented at the University has been growing rapidly.

  • Prestigious awards for their work are received not only by University researchers, but also by students.

  • ZČU actively participates in EU educational projects.

  • On the basis of the University, there is a Science and Technology Park, a joint project of ZČU, the Innovation Business Center, and the Plzeň City Administration. The goal is to establish close ties with commercial and industrial sectors.
